RatelInfo (“the Site”, accessible at https://ratelmovement.net/) respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users and contributors to do the same. This page explains how copyright owners can submit a takedown request relating to content that appears on the Site, how the individual operator of the Site will respond, and how an affected party may file a counter-notice.
Although the Site is operated by an individual based in Nigeria, and is governed by Nigerian law (including the Copyright Act 2022), this notice is also designed to be compatible with the takedown framework set out in the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512, because the Site is accessible internationally and uses third-party services (such as Google AdSense, Google Analytics, and cookie-based technologies) that operate under U.S. law.
1. How to File a Copyright / DMCA Takedown Notice
If you believe that material available on RatelInfo infringes a copyright that you own or are authorised to act for, please send a written notice to the designated contact below. The operator will review good-faith complaints promptly and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the material in question.
Designated Contact
- Site operator: Individual operator of RatelInfo
- Email for copyright notices: okolouchechi62@gmail.com
- Subject line (recommended): “DMCA Takedown Notice – RatelInfo”
Email is the preferred and fastest method of contact.
2. Required Elements of a Valid Notice
To be considered valid and actionable, your notice must include all of the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorised to act on their behalf.
- A clear identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (or, if multiple works are involved, a representative list).
- The exact URL(s) on https://ratelmovement.net/ where the allegedly infringing material is located, in enough detail to allow the operator to find it.
- Your full name, postal address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.
Incomplete notices may be rejected or delayed. Submitting a knowingly false or misleading notice may expose you to liability for damages and legal costs.
3. Counter-Notice Procedure
If your content has been removed or disabled and you believe this was the result of a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice to the same email address above. A valid counter-notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and the location at which it appeared before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your full name, address, telephone number, and email.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in Nigeria, and (where applicable) of the U.S. federal district court for the address provided, and that you will accept service of process from the original complainant or their agent.
If a valid counter-notice is received, the operator may restore the disputed material after a reasonable waiting period, unless the original complainant initiates legal proceedings.
4. Repeat Infringer Policy
RatelInfo enforces a repeat infringer policy. Users, contributors, or commenters who are the subject of repeated valid copyright complaints will have their access, contributions, or accounts terminated, and any infringing material will be removed. The operator reserves the right to take this action at any time and without prior notice where the circumstances justify it.
5. Third-Party Services
The Site displays advertising through Google AdSense and uses cookies and analytics tools such as Google Analytics. Complaints concerning advertising content served by Google should generally be directed to Google; however, the operator will cooperate in good faith with any properly submitted notice that relates to material under the Site’s control.
6. Governing Law
This notice and any dispute arising from it are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Nothing in this page limits any statutory rights you may have under applicable copyright law in your own jurisdiction.
7. Contact
All copyright-related correspondence should be sent to okolouchechi62@gmail.com.
